The Tyndale Bulletin

The Tyndale Society has developed a FREE pamphlet as an easy way for churches worldwide to celebrate the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale’s 1526 New Testament. Designed in the familiar church bulletin format, it is intended to be downloaded, printed double-sided, folded, and handed out. It is suitable for churches, conferences and events as well as public, private and home-school settings.

The Pamphlet Contains:

  • Front Page: A short biography of William Tyndale and a QR code linking to John 1:1–18 in his 1526 translation.
  • Centerfold: Timeline from John Wycliffe to Tyndale’s martyrdom
  • Back Page: William Tyndale, the Wordsmith

Scribing Component

Scribing is experiencing a modern-day revival, as many are rediscovering the value of copying Scripture by hand. The QR code on the front page of the bulletin links to a printout of John 1:1–18, together with lined pages, allowing recipients to download and scribe Tyndale’s text from the comfort of their own homes. The first few verses are in archaic spelling, true to Tyndale’s 1526 edition, followed by the passage in modern spelling.

Bulletin Download & Print:

It is recommended to print the bulletin in color, but it also renders well in black & white.

For Duplex Printers

(These are printers with automatic, double-sided capabilities.)

1) Download the correct size for your region:

2) To ensure the correct orientation of printed pages, open with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

3) In the Adobe Acrobat dialogue box, select the “Printer” icon (top, towards the right-side) to open the print dialogue.

4) In the print dialogue box:

  • Select “Custom Scale 100%”
  • Check “Print on both sides of paper”
  • Select “Flip on short edge”
  • Leave Orientation on “Auto”
  • Click “Print"
  • Fold the test page in half with the timeline on the inside.

For Printers Without Duplex Capabilities

1) Download the correct size for your region.

2) Print page 1 at 100% scale. Do not “fit” or “shrink”.

3) Reinsert.

4) Print page 2 likewise.

5) Fold the test page in half with the timeline on the inside.

Accessing the Scribing Component

Organizers simply need to print the bulletin. From the comfort of their own homes, recipients may then take the next step by following the QR code to the John 1:1–18 download:
