On 8th October 2026, Christian leaders from around the United Kingdom and members of the Tyndale Society, gathered in London for an event, organised by the Bible Society with participation from the Tyndale Society, to mark the five hundredth anniversary of the publication of William Tyndale's translation of the New Testament in English.
They met at St Dunstan-in-the-West, Fleet Street, built on the site of an earlier church where William Tyndale once lectured in the 1520s. A historic overview of the story of William Tyndale was given by Dr Harry Spillane, followed by speeches from leaders of the Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant communities. Denominational leaders signed an affirmation of commitment to the Bible and each was given a facsimile of Tyndale's 1534 New Testament.
Afterwards Tyndale Society members went to Ye Old Cock Tavern opposite for lunch and fellowship.
