St Pauls cathedral

On 6th October 2026, the day in the Church of England calendar for remembering WIlliam Tyndale, friends of the Tyndale Society from the USA went on a history walk through the streets of London in the footsteps of Tyndale. This was led by Tyndale Society tour guide Jill Finch and included a visit to the Tyndale New Testament in St Paul's Cathedral.

In the afternoon, we visited the Miles Coverdale Memorial Church at St Magnus the Martyr, and John Rogers' church at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre without Newgate.

In the evening, we attended a special commemorative, choral evensong for Tyndale at St Paul's Cathedral in London. This was held under the dome and included readings from Tyndale's 1526 New Testament in Tudor pronunciation. It finished with a terrific address by Dr Paula Gooder, outlining the history and significance of Tyndale's work. Afterwards, Tyndalians went out for dinner nearby, listening to a special peal of bells for the anniversary.
