Tyndale House "World of the Bible" - 24 October 2026

Tyndale world of the bible event

Tyndale House is holding a day conference on Saturday 24th October at Christ Church, Cambridge (CB1 1HT) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the proceedings also being available online.

To mark the close of the 500th anniversary year of the New Testament’s translation from Greek into English, the day will include a special talk on William Tyndale by Tony Watkins. This will be a similar event to the one which was held in Ealing in March, but will also include a video talk by Tom Schmidt on the date of Christmas.

Dramatic Performance, St Albans - 15 October 2026

"The Book That Changed the World"

St Peter’s Church, St Albans, are proud to present an extraordinary, one-hour dramatic performance called "The Book That Changed the World: William Tyndale and the Battle for the English Bible", written and presented by Prof. Tim Boatswain.

The event is part of the celebrations to mark the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale's New Testament published in Worms, which is twinned with St Albans. It takes place at 7 p.m. on 15th October 2026, at St Peter's Church, St Peter's Street, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 3HG. The presentation will be followed by refreshments.

Tyndale Evening Presentation, Exmouth, Devon - 7 October 2026

Exmouth Holy Trinity church

Rev David Ireson,  friend of the Tyndale Society, will deliver an evening presentation at Holy Trinity Church, Exmouth in Devon (EX8 2DA) on Wednesday 7th October from 7 until 8:45 p.m. His audio-visual presentation will have two parts: firstly, he will talk about Tyndale’s first printed Bible in English and his martyr’s death five hundred years ago; this will be followed by the story of the Reformation in England from Henry VIII to the 1549 Prayer Book rebellion in Devon.

HOLY TRINITY CHURCH

Tyndale Morning Service, Exmouth, Devon - 6 October 2026

Exmouth St John in the wilderness

Revd David Ireson, a good friend of the Tyndale Society, will be delivering a morning presentation during the weekly Morning Eucharist service at St John in the Wilderness Church, Exmouth in Devon (EX8 5EG), starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday 6th October. (This is the day in the Church of England calendar when William Tyndale is particularly remembered.)

The service will use the first Book of Common Prayer issued in 1549, and will include an historical presentation in two parts. Revd David Ireson will talk about Tyndale’s first printed Bible in English and his martyr’s death five hundred years ago, followed by the story of the Reformation in England from Henry VIII to the 1549 Prayer Book rebellion in Devon.
